The Little Red Rose

The Little Red Rose

You put the seeds in the ground
And you spread the dirt around
Sprinkle water till it's coming up rosey
Then you give a happy shout
When you see a little sprout
And you smell it with your little round nosey
That's how you grow a little red ro-ro-rose

So you get an idea
And you see it quite clear
It's as clear as a little white pony
Well you can ride it down the trail
And it's feet will never fail
Give it love, give it water, give it barley
And tend it like a little red ro-ro-rose

You could spread the seeds of peace
To the north, to the east
To the south, to the west
To all the polesies
You could take apart the bombs
You could plant them on the farms
Make a garden out of what-do-you-supposey?
And tend it like a little red ro-ro-rose.

If we'd all spread lovin'
Not pushin', not shovin'
Treat each other like that love was holy
No guns and bombs and wars
Would be pointed at our doors
And we'd live in the garden all cozy
And tend it like a little red ro-ro-rose

You put the seeds in the ground
And you spread the dirt around
Sprinkle water till it's coming up rosies
Then you give a happy shout
When you see a little sprout
And you smell it with your little round nosey
That's how you grow a little red rose
That's how you grow a little red rose
That's how you grow a little red ro-ro-rose ^
