"The World Ain't Slowing Down" featured in movie "Me, Myself & Irene"

Ellis Paul, a nationally known, Boston-based, singer-songwriter has been chosen by the producers of the new Jim Carrey film "Me, Myself & Irene" to have one of his most popular songs featured prominently in the film. The Farrelly Brothers; writers, producers, and directors of the film, chose "The World Ain't Slowin' Down" to be the title song of the film. The Farrelly Brothers are known for two of the largest grossing movies of the last decade - "Dumb and Dumber" and "There's Something About Mary". It is unusual for a singer-songwriter to have their entire song played in a major motion picture, yet Paul has managed to live up to his reputation as a "national folk star" and succeeded in winning over the Farrelly Brothers to play "The World Ain't Slowin' Down" in its entirety at the end of the film.

The soundtrack for the film, being released on Elektra Records on June 13th, will include Ellis, The Offspring, Foo Fighters, Third Eye Blind, Smash Mouth, The Push Stars, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Wilco and others.

Paul has been called "a national treasure" by Peter Farrelly, and "Best Bet for Stardom" by USA Today. He is a ten-time winner of the Boston Music Awards and has toured for over eight years throughout the U.S. - clocking in almost 250 shows a year from Maine to Seattle. He has performed in some of the country's best-known venues: Carnegie Hall, The Bottom Line (NYC), The Kennedy Center (D.C.), The Newport Folk Festival, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas. He has won several prestigious songwriting competitions, is admired by his colleagues, and is considered a major influence in the contemporary singer-songwriter scene today.

Ellis Paul's records have charted in the top 5 of the CMJ and Gavin Triple A radio charts with a discography that includes five CDs.

On June 20th, Ellis Paul has been asked to perform "The World Ain't Slowin' Down" at the Farrelly Brothers premiere party in Providence, Rhode Island. He was also invited by the Boston Red Sox to perform the national anthem on June 22nd at Fenway Park during the Red Sox/Yankees game. On June 23rd, "Me, Myself & Irene" will be released into over 4,000 theatres world-wide.

According to Jim Carrey Online, "The World Ain't Slowin' Down"are the words you'll most likely be humming while you exit the theaterJune 23rd, as they belong to the lyrics of Me, Myself & Irene's love themeit is a very beautiful ballad with soft and masterfully performed lyrics".
