2008 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction

Postby KarenZ » Tue Mar 11, 2008 9:44 am

Folks,

If you missed VH1's live broadcast of this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony last night (I wasn't able to tune in and totally forgot to give you all a heads-up!), VH1 will rebroadcast highlights of the ceremony all this month.

Here's an article in the Toronto Sun:

Hall of Fame Welcomes Leonard Cohen

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Karen,

I can't believe I missed that!! I heard that Loe Reed inducting Leonard Cohen was very moving.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to catch the highlights.

Thanks for the heads up, Karen....I'll try and catch a highlight or two. :)

On Letterman last week, Paul Shafer mentioned the passing of one of his inspirations in music, Mike Smith, who led the Dave Clark 5. Mike died knowing he was going to be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
