Feb. 20 in EP Music History Trivia
Folks,
Well, since yesterday's trivia was so much fun - let's do it again! Fast forward 5 years (from yesterday's trivia setlist) to Feb. 20, 2004. I'm now at The Village Meeting House in Williamsville, NY at show #120.
Here's the setlist from that night:
1. Jukebox on My Grave
2. Maria’s Beautiful Mess
3. Clarity
4. I've Got 9 Months To Fix The World
5. 3000 Miles
[break]
6. Words
7. The Only Way
8. New Orleans
9. Speed Of Trees
10. God’s Promise
11. If you break down
12. eighteen
13. The World Ain't Slowing Down
[encore]
14. she was
15. art of distance
Two encore numbers. And wow.....it was one of only a handful of times that I've ever heard "the art of distance".
Although I didn't hear any song for the 1st time that night, I did hear a song for what was the 2nd time that night.
Any guesses?
Karen

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Okay...have only had 1 cup of coffee this morning. So, I need come clarity.
I'm thinking it's a fairly new song for Ellis. Has yet to play it out much. He likely does 2 things with this song that night. He sound checks it. He plays it early. Not first....not second....third slot seems right for it. Get it out of the way so he doesn't have to sweat it all night.
Clarity
If I'm wrong again, it's okay. My coffee maker just ding dinged that the 2nd cup of coffee is ready and clarity is soon to follow.
