(movie) August Rush

Postby KarenZ » Mon Feb 11, 2008 10:33 am

Folks,

I had been wanting to see the movie August Rush for months - ever since BeckyG told me that she thought it was so wonderful that she had to see it more than once. She also said it had to do with the power of music so naturally that intrigued me. I noticed that it was playing at the local MaxiSaver so yesterday afternoon I picked up my mom and we went to see it. Becky was right....it is really a wonderful feel good movie. And it is about the power of music - to the nth degree! Looks like it was nominated for a few awards last year. Wikipedia has a synopsis and lots of links.

Don't walk, RUSH (pun intended!) to rent or watch this movie! :)

Did anybody else see it?

There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

My son saw and LOVED this movie. It's on my list to rent!

He told me after watching ONCE that we'd have to watch August Rush together!

Monica,

Karen,

I can't tell you how nice it is to have a music lover in the house. I took him to the Woody Guthrie Tribute in January as I had an extra ticket. On the ride home he told me that a couple of the songs brought tears to his eyes and had a ton of Woody questions. I love it that a 16-year-old is so moved by this kind of music! Makes me a proud mama!

Great topic, Karen, as this movie had been on my radar of movies I was intrigued by right from the start. Course as often is the case the movie moves on from playing in theaters and then I forget all about it.

Til now!!!

Will report back as soon as I've seen it.

Thanks guys....it looks a must see movie for music lovers..... :D
