Thanks to everyone who has responded to my online appeals & made a previous donation via the PERUrocks TREKKERS site! YOU GUYS ROCK!!! I'll soon be halfway to my goal to raise $5,000 to support leukemia treatment worldwide & attend the once-in-a-lifetime celebration concert of the musicians organizing a charitable CLIMB up MACHU PICCHU in October, 2008 to raise awareness of cancer treatments available in South America.
I just recieved an exciting offer I felt I couldn't refuse and I wanted to get it out to you as soon as possible to take full advantage of it. Thanks to the Love Hope Strength Foundtion and a most generous donor who has offered to MATCH every donation that comes in thru the website DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR over the next 24 hours I have the opportunity to DOUBLE the effectiveness of every donation made TODAY (THURSDAY, June 5th)!!! Isn't that AWESOME????
http://www.perurocks.org/trekkers/lyn-nelson/
Please consider giving to this worthy cause as every dollar sent in today will count toward reaching TWICE as many people. So, even a gift of $10 or $20 can have a very significant effect on the people of Peru in the long run. *If you don't like to use online means to make your donations all you have to do is SEND ME AN EMAIL confirming the amount you want to send BY 9AM FRIDAY, June 6th and I'll make sure it qualifies for the matching funds.
I appreciate all your support so far and am proud to be a participant in such a worthy event - with people who have been so personally affected by their experiences and exposure to cancer & leukemia, including the musicians and their families.
Thanks again for all the personal, financial, physical & spiritual support!
You guys ROCK - like there's no tomorrow!!
Love & LIFE!
Lyn

Can you all picture our petite Ms. Lyn trekking all the way up Macchu Picchu?
Even more shocking is that she is doing it with a bunch of real life rock stars who will be without their hair product.
If you ask Lyn why she is doing I wonder if she'll say......
Because it's there
Because it's there
Because we could
Because we should
Because we dare
Because it's there
Go Lyn Go!!

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Hey Folk Folks,
I just got an email from Lyn. She is doing well, but would love a little encouragement. You can post a message that will be shown to her at the end of each day of trekking. Ain't technology a beautiful thing?
