"Nashville Sings Woody," a tribute concert to honor folksinger/songwriter Woody Guthrie, took place at the Ryman Theater in Nashville on Feb. 5, 2003. The tribute show was the highlight of the month-long Woody Guthrie 90th Year Celebration and took place during the Folk Alliance Conference. Performers that night included Arlo Guthrie, Marty Stuart, Nanci Griffith, Guy Clark, Blackfire, Janis Ian, Beth Nielsen Chapman, and many others. It was also the kick-off of the Ribbon of Highway, Endless Skyway tour starring Jimmy LaFave, Eliza Gilkyson, Slaid Cleaves and Ellis Paul. Below are two pictures from the Grande Finale from the Gibson Guitar website where you can read more about the tribute show. (Ellis Paul on far right.)

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.
