The singer-songwriter pictured above was born in Hollywood, CA on Aug. 24 and now makes her home in Austin, TX. Her solo album Land of Milk and Honey, released on Red House Records in March 2004, included the previously unrecorded Woody Guthrie song "Peace Call" and featured backup vocals by Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patty Griffin, and Iris DeMent. It earned a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Folk Album.
