Ellis Paul Discussion

Folks,

Happy Earth Day! In honor of Earth Day, can anyone name the title of a song that Ellis Paul has recorded that has the word earth in the lyrics? I can think of four.....but maybe you all can think of more.

Just posted a Youtube: Calendar Man April 2010 in Breakin Thru The Radio where we discuss Ellis Paul's music lyrics CDs and he most certainly honors Earth Day in this live version of the song!

Just found one by going to the lyrics page....had a feeling and lo and behold I clicked PLAY and there it was in all it's splendor!

I was out working in the yard with one of my favorite Ellis Paul CDs helping take the edge off the Spring cleanup and listened close to see of there was any mention of planet earth in any of the songs. To the best I could tell there weren't any. When the music stopped I continued working and started running through possbile songs and it struck me that there could be one from the covers record Ellis and Vance did called Side of the Road. Maybe one of the Mark Erelli tunes. Shortly thereafter, one definite candidate came rushing in. Should I give it away here and now or just drop a hint and hope others will chime in? I vote hint!!!

One of the coolest songs (in my opinion) Ellis has ever done and it was if memory serves me well a poem first...then set to music.

Anyone got it?

I'm clueless.

one of the clues is a def. a good one.. the other had me thinking a bit , but I get it now..

Here's a tiny hint:

The song rivals Martyr's Lounge in hindsight...

Paddy, I think "he's" history would be more accurate..

but the song was def.a poem first.. and I agree a very cool one

though I know not the favortie of most.

You know I can appreciate Ellis Paul purists having some degree of difficulty with Ellis Paul going from a mostly acoustic sound to something that leans more towards pop music and this song was definitely in that category. So I will count myself among the minority of folks that enjoyed this change in styles and can say here that Ellis Paul, with this song, could and probably should have, crossed over into the mainstream music consciousness of the music loving world. It's right up there with Billy Joel's look back at history via his amazing song "We Didn't Start the Fire"

There's a saying at the company Pam works for that's part of each and every gatheing of employees as leaders expond upon the virtues of the company's successes and how when it comes right down to it it's all about the amazing contributions made by teammates at every level. They are the best at what they do. It reminds me just how special this place is:
