June 22 in EP Music History Trivia

Postby KarenZ » Mon Jun 22, 2009 9:18 am

Folks,

Image

OMG! Ten years ago today, Ellis played the Milliennium Stage at The Kennedy Center!

"I'm getting older, I don't need to justify myself to you. Do you hear me?"

Click on the link below to watch the entire 60-minute performance. He starts off with some wicked harmonica - playing BeckyG's favorite song. :)

It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Becky's favorite song, interesting.. I always felt this got lost on the live CD, along with Mrs. Jones..

Karen what is the second song Ellis sings here? is it Everythings Broken.. I couldn't quite make it out.. whatever it is.. he tells the Dead Head Story before it.

Patti,

The Kennedy Center performance included two songs that were never recorded: "Everything's Broken" and "Rainy Season". :)
