March 29 in EP Music History Trivia

Postby KarenZ » Tue Mar 31, 2009 12:30 pm

Folks,

Yikes! I'm two days behind posting this little memento of a show Ellis did one year ago - March 29, 2008. Anyone remember what city named a street for Ellis? :)

I was so happy to have been there for the dedication! ;)

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

I'm not familiar with this story. I guess I could check on Wikipedia, but I will wait here for the details.

I think it might be in OK something to do with Woody Guthrie??

But Karen you just made me realize that of the 3 addresses I've had my entire life. 2 of them have been just one street away from An Ellis Ave and an Ellis St. 8)
