April 16 in EP Music History Trivia

"I’ve seen you walk like Charlie Chaplin
I’ve seen you cry like Natalie Wood
Sometimes I wish I could read you like a silent movie caption
Cause if I could get in your head you know I would…I would"
-- Ellis Paul

Charlie Chaplin was born on this date in 1889.

Here's some vintage video of Chaplin capturing his famous walk. :)

Can anyone name the Ellis Paul song containing the lines of lyric above? :)

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Sure can! Heard Ellis do this at The Surf Ballroom (of Buddy Holly fame) in Clear Lake, Iowa nearly 3 years ago. He played the grand piano, there, making sure to touch all the keys, because of all the greats who have played there over the years. He also said he used all the urinals for the same reason, but that's another story. Anyway, it's

Goodbye, Hollywood

Have a good one, Karen!

Too much information :!:  :D

Good going on the correct answer! I remember hearing the song in its very early gestation when it had a very prominent circus theme - including a line about PT Barnum.....and was titled "Ready to Go". :)
