March 14 in EP Music History Trivia - win a prize!
Folks,
Ellis Paul Live was released on this date in 2000. Holy Moly! EIGHT years ago already? I think it's time for MORE Ellis Paul Live, don't you? Maybe we should start a revolt......or, at the very least, a petition!
In commemoration of today's anniversary, I dug out the CD this morning and listened to Disk 2 on the drive to work....and the sparseness of a few songs caused the tears to flow. Wow.
To win a copy of Ellis Paul Live, simply be the first person to answer the following 5 questions:
1. What song on Ellis Paul Live contains:
"In the heart of a desperate hour, love knocks down all doors
Knowing too well it's too late to lay blame."
2. What song on Ellis Paul Live contains:
"I like the tension when there's room for doubt."
3. What song on Ellis Paul Live contains:
"And your kiss could heal like medicine
There ain't nothing that it can't overcome"
4. Name the 3 poems Ellis recites on Ellis Paul Live.
5. Lastly, in honor of Albert Einstein's birthday today (he was born on March 14, 1879), what Ellis Paul song contains:
"And you'd say, 'Pain is just a relative thing'
I'd say, 'Thank you, Mr. Einstein'"
Good luck all!

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Karen....Great fun and I'd love to be the one to solve this mystery....
But clearly the 8 years have not been kind to me.
I can't answer a single one of those questions.
YES, to more Ellis Paul Live music. Where do I sign?

Congratulations, Shari! You're today's winner! I'll pop your prize in the mail as soon as I can.
Those 3 songs.... with just Ellis and guitar....well, they remind me of the mystery all over again....and reinforce why I'm here.

Of course I have Translucent Soul....
I have them all....just that without the music playing.....
Sometimes i'm a little rusty....and what i love about ep's music
is that sometimes you can read the lyrics and not get the greatness.
But then you add that sound......
