"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Karen, thanks for the trip down memory lane to this fine fine book store just down the road a piece in Harrisburg,Pa.....remembering what a great job these folks did putting on their very first concert. And how they seemed to cover all their bases from getting ALL those books for Ellis and All those goodies for us during the intermission. I still haven't worked off the weight I gained helping myself to their kind hospitality.
Gotta keep an eye on their schedule. Shortly after Ellis' show, they hosted then unknown to me Antje Duvekot. I was tempted, recently, to forgo our tickets and chance to see Bill Deasy in Philly to instead head west to see Antje there. Had just seen her at Tin Angel at her cd release party. My wife had not seen her yet tho. Decisions, decisions, decisions. We had not seen Bill in awhile so it was not to be. She was on her way to Pittsbugh for that house concert at Ken's place. We also missed the swoonworthy one there. The one, the only, Richard Shindell. Too many great ones, so little time.
Thanks again for the photos.
