WoodyFest 2006

Postby KarenZ » Tue Jul 18, 2006 11:07 pm

Hi folks,

Well, I've managed to put some pix from this year's WoodyFest into an online album....but it's really a challenge to try to capture on film what the experience of being there is like. Hope this gives you a tiny feel for it all. There's so much that I didn't capture.

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Oh boy, those photos make me feel like that festival is something close to a religion! Nice job, Karen, and as always, thanks for sharing.

Wendy, you hit the nail on the head. It's truly a spiritual experience.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Just makes me wish that next year we'll make it to WoodyFest.

Thanks so much for the great selection of pix.

That's what I figured since I didn't see any pens or paper. Or hands for that matter. Just his feet. :P

Ah, I dunno...ya seen one 14 time Boston Folk Award Winner's feet,

ya seen em all!!! :D

Seriously the mention of Ellis's feet on parade was really more of a
curiosity as to whether or not Ellis was likely to play sans shoes or not.

Mission accomplished I'd say.... :!: .... :D

Thanks again for the great snaps Karen.

ps - power restored...can view all pics in slideshow now.

Kathy and Paddy lay the blame squarely on Thomas Alva Edison...
