Dave Mattacks
What was it like playing with Dave Mattacks? I was an English folk nut before I discovered American folk and musicians like Eddie from Ohio, Bill Morrissey, and well, you. I've been a huge fan of Fairport Convention for years and thought it was cool that he was playing on the new CD.

Dave is a great guy and one of the best intuitive drummers in the world. He didn't have much of a chance to get to know my songs, we just dove into the recording without much prep time, but he was absolutlely brilliant on the spot, as you might tell from listening to some of the subtleties from the recording. He has a great many stories. He's an encyclopedia of modern music, because he's played on so many recordings, and of course he knows alot about older folk stuff as well.
i will definitely be asking him to play with me again sometime, maybe even live...
Hope you enjoyed the cd,
Ellis
