Tuning for Maria's Beautiful Mess

Postby sonicbridge » Fri Feb 01, 2008 12:56 pm

Ellis,

I'm a new fan and had the pleasure of seeing your performance at the Wilson School in Natick, Ma. I'm possessed with "Maria's Beautiful Mess" and have been trying to figure it out. But it seems that what i'm playing in standard tuning is different than what I saw and heard at the Wilson School. Apart from the obvious differences of a novice versus a master are you using any special tunings for that song?

Thanks!

the main tuning i use during my sets is open c sharp
C#A#C#FA#C#
low to high
stop me sometime and I will give you a quick tour of the tuning, or pick up the DVD 3000 miles, there is a lesson on how to Maria's Beautiful Mess on the dvd..
thanks for asking, of all my songs, I feel like this one is the most satisfying to play on the guitar. i bet you will like having it under your fingers...
