Folks,

I've been meaning to post something about the forthcoming release of the Dylan biography I'm Not There slated for release in the states this week. The film's Wikipedia article has everything you'd possibly want or need to know about the film, including cast info, links to trailers, soundtrack info, etc. The movie's soundtrack, released on 2 disks, has performances ranging from Sufjan Stevens to Ramblin' Jack Elliot - and everything in between. Interestingly, 7 different actors/actresses play Dylan at different periods in his life - including Richard Gere and Cate Blanchett.

In reading about Heath Ledger I found this..seems his best known role was in Brokeback Mountain, but he was in the Bob Dylan movie

But Ledger's most recent choices were arguably the boldest yet: He costarred in "I'm Not There," in which he played one of the many incarnations of Bob Dylan — as did Cate Blanchett, whose performance in that film earned an Oscar nomination Tuesday for best supporting actress.

One of the pictures I saw reminded me much of Andy Gibb..

At the SAG awards last night in Hollywood, from the red carpet, actress Cate Blanchett had this to say when asked why the director chose a woman to play one of the many portrayals of Bob Dylan:

"The director wanted to convey how very strange it was back then when "Dylan went electric" -- and thought no better way than to have a woman portray Dylan at that point in the story."

Makes perfect sense to me.
