This was in my art.com newsletter this morning. I found it interesting so I thought I'd share
Artist Bio: Marc Chagall
Chagall, a Jewish man from Belarus, narrowly escaped the horrors of the Holocaust when Germany occupied France during WWII. With the help of an American Journalist, Chagall and his family were able to flee to Portugal and finally settle in the United States in 1941.
Artist Quote:
"In our life there is a single color, as on an artist's palette, which provides the meaning of life and art. It is the color of love."
