Happy Tuesday Morning everyone!
It was nice having the day off yesterday and having time to go to a movie! I had been wanting to see the new George Clooney (swoon) movie Up in the Air for a few weeks, so that's what I went to see. Happy to report that it was worth every cent. Had to smile though during the opening scenes when Woody Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land" came through the speakers. It was perfect use of the song as the camera showed aerial shots of the country while Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings (I had to Google to find out who was singing) performed Woody's song. Not the melody we're familiar with......but still awesome. You can hear her version at the link below.
Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings
Great overall soundtrack!
Oh yeah.....did I say that George Clooney is HOT?

Movie: Up in the Air
"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

I think Woody would be proud of this interpretation!!!
