Karen, nice choice of words: Kapish?
It's used often in this house when trying to ascertain if We're getting thru to our son. He's tired of hearing it I'm sure.
I try to learn something new every day and I just did with your explanation of the diffs between "submit" and "reset".
Makes perfect sense.
Thanks again!

Folks,
I could not for the life of me find the thread about the Ellis Paul quilt. (I haven't forgotten that I promised to tell the story!). So....DUH....I tried the Search feature found at the top of the page! All I did was type the word "quilt" in the search box and.....voila! The thread is in the July 25, 2006 trivia question! (I would never have found it!)
So...I just wanted to say that I really like the search capability of the new board software. Try it sometime.
OK....I'm gonna go post something in the old July 25 trivia thread....

NOticed sumtin bout this website and could use some feedback.
Is there a way to increase text size???
For days like today.
Tried theoption on my pc msn windows box and while it works FINE on other sites by "jumbo sizing" the text for me.....here it stays the same small size.....
Any chance I'm missin something obvious???
TIA

This is no big deal...but if I have been away from the computer for say 10 or 15 minutes....I have to click on a thread or the "refresh" button too bring me up to date with the current nature of things.
Is there a way to stay "current" as long as I have the forum up on my pc?
TIA

Forgive my lazy ways...me and Richard Shindell, we "Get So LAzy".
What I'm trying to say is that this might have come up before, but I'm just too lazy to go back and check.
Did you know......I only found out today.... that when you use the search feature here on the forum......that the keyword(s) you are searching for will be bold face in all text that the word(s) appear.
Say that 3x times fast.
So if youre looking for Flynn here on the board, you will be directed to all threads Flynn can be found. It's somewhat daunting the number of threads he can be found in....but, with this cool feature, simply scroll down to find that FLYNN can be more easily found since he's in bold face.
I ask you, how cool is that?

Question here for any and all.
Is there a "bounce" when clicking on a new post? By "bounce" I mean when I click on a new post I first see the post (an older one) at the top of page for a split second...then it bounces to the latest post in the thread.
Maybe it's just my new laptop.

Thanks Dean for the quick response but I'm afraid I have fallen short of explaining it exactly. Here's what's happening:
I see a new post on a thread, let's say yours, on this thread. Used to be, anyway, when you see that someone has "just posted" you click on the the "lil file looking thing" to the right of the poster's name -- and presto -- you were there!!! (at the new/latest post)
What's different NOW, for me anyway, is for a split second the top of the page (of the thread of the new/latest post) flashes before it settles in to the bottom and the latest/newest post.
Whereas the norm has always been click lil file/there!!!

Geesh. I'm away from the computer for 4 hours and another three invasions. There's at least 10-12 per day. I've blocked lots of user names and e-mail addresses, but it's impossible to block 'em all.....
Thanks for appreciating my efforts!

Did you guys notice that the max number of users online - which had been 90 for quite a few months - jumped to 143 on Sunday night? Holy moly!

Gee....I thought it may have been my scintillating Texas report. NOT!
Actually, I think it's simply the overall information that is here.....especially show reports, pictures, & lyrics. That's my best guess anyway. Keep it coming folks! Dean, we want Chicago show reports!

Re: New discussion board software - likes and dislikes so far
Folks,
As much as I am on this board, somehow I occasionally overlook posts.....so what I've learned to do is:
1. Login
2. Click on "View new posts" in upper right of page
What happens then is you will get a display of all new posts since the last time YOU logged in. This is particularly helpful when there are multiple active threads (for example, we might be talking about both Mark Erelli and Antje Duvekot on the same day)....and you won't overlook anything.
Hope this helps!
Just curious....are you all already using the "View new posts" feature?

Re: New discussion board software - likes and dislikes so far
I do not use the "view new posts" button out of habit but will soon begin to I am sure. Every once in a while I hit the unanswered posts button to see threads started but never ever responded to. I'm sure it's mostly because of the volume of information here at any given point in time.

Karen FYI This is the message I get when I try to use that function.

I noticed a change a few days ago. My display has gotten much narrower. (Is that what you mean by not being able to go full screen?)
