Wondererd if any of you heard who is playing at the 900 seat Somerville Theatre tonight?? U2
Below is an excerpt I copied and pasted
Fans should expect a “fairly short” set tonight and a Q & A session when Irish rockers U2 take the stage at the Somerville Theater in front of a select group of fewer than 900 fans, according to the theater’s manager.
“The key words here are ‘intimate performance,”’ said Somerville Theater general manager Ian Judge this morning as he prepared for the Davis Square theater’s biggest show ever. “It’s a warm room for the artist and the audience. That’s the benefit here.”
The theater holds 900 people, but Judge expects closer to 750 tonight because some space was taken up for the band’s equipment.
He said he got the call Monday night confirming U2’s appearance at the theater, following days of speculation about potential clubs.
Preparing for the show has been “insane,” he said.
“We’re certainly honored and I would be remiss if I didn’t say we are a little overwhelmed,” he said. “It’s just such an incredible honor to have the eyes of the world on us.”
