Ellis Paul Discussion

Folks,

A few years ago it was determined that BeckyG was suffering from a previously unheard of syndrome called PELDS - Post Ellis Let Down Syndrome. Although PELDS is not terminal, in some persons the syndrome worsens until airfare to an Ellis Paul show is booked or tickets to an Ellis Paul show are purchased. But those cases are extreme!

Having experienced the syndrome myself, and having been part of several clinical trials researching treatment for PELDS, a cure was discovered. It worked for BeckyG (and me!) and I know it will work for you!

In most cases symptoms of the syndrome evaporate almost immediately with the following therapy:

1. Joining a support group (if you’re reading this, you’ve already done Step 1!)
2. Making a phone call to another Ellis Paul Devotee.
3. Posting about Ellis Paul’s music on his discussion board.
4. Listening to Ellis Paul music at home.
5. Reading postings on the Ellis Paul discussion board.
6. Posting Ellis Paul show photos on the discussion board.
7. Listening to Ellis Paul music in the car.
8. Browsing through Ellis Paul show photos in the Photograph forum of the EP discussion board.
9. Listening to Ellis Paul music at work.
10. Buying a ticket to an Ellis Paul show or booking airfare for an Ellis Paul road trip (for extreme cases).
11. A combination of any two, 1 through 9, above. (I have found that combination therapy works best.)
12. Like all 12-step programs, carrying the message to others (spreadin’ the word) is the best therapy of all......

Ahhh.... feeling much better now.... [that dazzed and relaxed look] I was starting to get the blues, but one look at some photos of EP shows and I'm much better. Especially of those small ones at the recent family show...

I love this 12-step programme!

I also suffer the same sort of affliction after having attended a music festival as well as after seeing particular artists.

This time 'round, the cure also included immediately attending the house concert of another wonderful musician - namely Mark Erelli.

Well that is indeed a nice cure for the PELDS... but let's hope nobody contracts MELDS!!! (Mark Erelli Let Down Syndrome ) I think Jela will be suffering from that later this year, but she appears to have her remedies all lined up

Since the only surefire cure for PELDS is more Ellis, I will have to take that medecine.

I am planning my next show as we speak. A little social rearranging and I will be over in the 3000 Miles thread posting my plans.

Looking at Circle of Friends Saturday for a quick fix... I hope........

Can you say Mauch Chunk Opera House?

Thought that might be the show you were referencing......but I see Circle of Friends is closer and sooner.

We got EP at Puck Live in Doylestown for 2 shows in our sights on January 31st.

I love that place, but I won't be able to make it this time around.

Seems like y'day we were all at Mauch Chunk to see the incomparable Flynn!!!
