On the local news last night we were told that a section of I-95 in Philly would be closed for at least two days as inspectors had discovered that a crack in a support column they had been monitoring since October was worsening to the point that they needed to begin repairs immediately. As of 1130pm or so last night they were talking total closure of that section of I-95 in Philly.
In light of the tragedy in Minnesota I suspect all major bridges in all major cities are undergoing strident inspections for fear it might happen again. I'm glad they caught this one ahead of time, and while we don't travel on that road very often I know that many other travellers and commuters do.
Good luck out there gettin around Philly in the next few days.
And Ellis, ya might want to re route your trip back south from Worcester, Mass. if you're travellin by car and headin home.
