HBO Documentary -- Alive Day Memories -- Home from Iraq

Postby paddyinthepub » Sat Dec 01, 2007 11:19 am

Here's a link to this important documentary about soldiers returning from the war reflecting on their injury and "alive day" which is the date they suffered their war related and life changing injuries. It's the day soldiers now look upon as the day they should have in all likelihood died, but somehow survived.

Executive Producer James Gandolfini sits down with the soldiers as they relay their stories about their "alive day" and talk about hardships since.

It's a cold hard look at the realities some of our returning men and women are facing after serving their country in Iraq. It's available for viewing on HBO on Comcast cable over in the On Demand section under Specials and Documentaries. A real wake up call of sorts, and to me, anyway, underscores the importance of some of the new songs on Ellis' new record.
