Mannheim Steamroller

Postby KarenZ » Thu Dec 18, 2008 10:46 am

I went to see/hear Mannheim Steamroller last night at the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh. Wow....what a spectacle it was. I've been enjoying their Christmas music for many years (I'm certain you all have too since every radio Christmas playlist includes their songs) and it was such a joyous experience to see them live. Here's a YouTube video of "Joy to the World":

Mannheim Steamroller - Joy to the World

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.
