Hey everyone,

You can listen to a 2 1/2 minute snippet of the Burns Sisters' spine-tingling cover of EP's "God's Promise" from their forthcoming CD Wild Bouquet (being released on Aug. 4) at:

Karen, feel your pain. :(

Funny back story. We discovered a band called Pele JUJU at Kerrville one year and bought a couple of CDS. The name of the band was good for a few good giggles and the music was good too.

For some reason we came to use the name of the band to communicate a very simple and needed response. When I'd say something to my wife and she did not respond for whatever reason, I'd say "Pele JUJU"

We shortened it to PJ or Peejay after a while. It was a most effective way of saying I just said something and you didn't respond. At All. Please do.
So, even if she was not ready to comment on my point, if she said PJ I knew she heard me, got me, and would respond in due time.

You are quite right, here. It's like where'd everybody go? What I will say about this, for me anyway, is my slow wireless connection and laptop here usually draaaaaaaaag trying to download or link to these things. I always try and almost always fail. So, I'm most interested in hearing the links just that I haven't yet.

In other words............................PJ

Karen -

I listened to the link but I have to say I like Ellis' version a lot better. I feel like his vocals have more depth to them on the song. Maybe it would take a few more listens to warm up to it because the other version is tied to my memory of the song. I typically really like the Burns sister's I passed the link onto my sister who is a huge Burns sisters fan and will probably love that their covering an Ellis song.

It's just nice having another avenue (through The Burns Sisters) that folks will come to know Ellis' songs! :) Now...if we could only get Tim McGraw to cover "she was"....that's my goal! :)

Folks,

It's been a good while since we've mentioned The Burns Sisters. There's a video of The Burns Sisters Band doing a spine-tingling performance of Ellis Paul's "God's Promise" on the Old Town School of Folk Music website linked below. The video begins with guitarist Harvey Reid performing "Amazing Grace".
