Todd Snider ~ talks about Homer, Alaska

Postby paddyinthepub » Thu Jan 24, 2008 2:54 pm

Hi folks -- wanted to share these youtube videos of Todd Snider performing live in Palms, California on 4/17/02. In the intro to "Moondawg's Tavern" -- Todd tells of his trip to Homer, Alaska. It's pretty hilarious all the way around.........Caution ~ he drops "grampa words" in both.

I couldn't help but think of ellis' story the other night about arriving in Homer, Alaska to play a concert at Alice's Champagne Palace. Who knew ep had more than one transvestite story?

Enjoy! :D

Part 1 is the intro to the song ~ Todd talks about arriving in Homer:

Part 2 continues the intro and song. (wonder if ep has ever met digger dave?)

Here's a youtube of a performance where Todd Snider is lamenting the loss of a friend, the son of country music great Billy Joe Shaver -- Eddie Shaver, who passed away on 12/31/00.

It's never lost on me how few degrees of separation there are sometimes in the world of Ellis Paul fans. It takes time for some to get here, and it's nice to know they come from a place where the words and music matter.

This goes out to mcw23...new to ep's music. The blog Ellis wrote on some of his musical heroes of days gone by comes to mind when I watch and listen to "Waco Moon."
