Hi folks,
It is with great pleasure that I announce that the first Fan Photo of the Week has been chosen and is now on display on Ellis Paul's web site in the Fan Photo of the Week Gallery linked below. Congratulations to Richard Webb (Of Richard + Jela) of West Sussex, England for submitting a wonderful photo of Eliza Gilkyson!

Thanks to everyone who submitted photos...and keep watching this space. Maybe yours will be the next one chosen.
(Since Richard and Jela are 5 or 6 hours ahead of us, I'm posting this tonight so that they will see it upon arising in a few hours.)

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Nicely done Richard!! I can see there will be stiff competition here.
Looking forward to more photos. What a great feature.

"...I implore you, I entreat you, I challenge you to speak with conviction, to say what you believe, in a manner that bespeaks the determination with which you believe it, because contrary to the wisdom of the bumper sticker, it is not enough these days to "question" authority, you have to speak with it, too."

Years ago I was glued to the TV for Wimbledon too....but somehow fell away from it. I did hear today that Martina Navratilova is retiring after this tournament. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with any of the other players these days!
