Here's a heads-up from board member friend mm!
Greetings friends!!
I am extremely excited about a special upcoming radio appearance I'll have on Boston's WBZ (AM 1030) this Saturday, May 2nd (into Sunday May 3) from midnight to 2 am. Jordan Rich, host and great supporter of the arts, will have me on for TWO hours talking with some of the musicians who have been on my Mostly Rock 'N Roll TV program. Guaranteed good karma and laughter along the way.
Joining us for this on-air late night party will be, in order, Glen Phillips, around 12:10 or 12:15 am; Antje Duvekot, around 12:25 am; Mike Maloney, around 12:40 am. Then at 1 am, Ellis Paul and Flynn together in the studio playing live(!). At around 1:30 or 1:40 am, James Duncan from England; and at about 1:50 or so, we'll play a song from Willy Porter's new CD.
Yes, I know it's late at night for us East coasters, but it's just sorta late for the West coasters and very early for England. Think of the company you'll be keeping and the great, great spirits and music all in the same time frame! Jordan Rich is such a positive interviewer that he brings out the best in all.
WBZ is the largest AM/news station in New England and airs to to over 35 states at that time of night on AM 1030 and streams around the world online at http://www.wbz.com. Not all shows are archived, so if you miss it and wish to hear, let me know and I can make you a CD copy afterward.
Artist sketches:
-Glen Phillips is the wonderfully talented lead singer of Toad the Wet Sprocket, solo artist, and member of W.P.A., a fantastic new collaboration.
-Antje Duvekot is a lovely Boston based singer/songwriter extraordinaire.
-Mike Maloney is a young musician who Jordan knows who will join us.
-Ellis Paul and Flynn are well known singer-songwriters of many years prowess in the field and are great talents. They will be TOGETHER in the studio (now how cool is that?????), surely with laughter-inducing commentary.
-James Duncan will be phoning in from England. He is a member of Fancy Toys, with many ties to Jethro Tull managing for them and playing drums for Ian Anderson's non-Tull tours.
-We'll play one of the incredible Willy Porter's songs off his brand spanking new CD (though Willy will be mid-gig and can't phone in).
I love these artists! Feel free to pass this info on to other fans.
Thanks, Monica Mansfield
I hope I can stay awake!
