Get well wishes to Don Conoscenti/Don Con Fundraiser

Postby KarenZ » Wed Mar 25, 2009 7:25 pm

Folks,

EP's good buddy Don Conoscenti took a bad fall on his bike and has been flown from Taos, NM (where he now lives) to Denver,CO for surgery to repair a nasty break of his femur. EP would appreciate lots of get well wishes being sent Don's way. Please take a moment to send e-mail greetings to Don at don@donconoscenti.com

Also feel free to post messages on Don's MySpace linked below:

Thanks Karen.

Please ask Ellis to keep us updated. I will be thinking of Don and visualizing him on Passim's stage on two strong and healthy legs.

I noticed on Don' myspace or maybe it was his website that he has several shows booked near home.

I sincerely hope the old adage "break a leg" was not uttered by one his friends in light of the gigs.

"I pity the fool" who may have let that one fly...... :P

Out on Don's website is a photo that might help explain Don's spill...... :?

It's a new look that might have thrown his aerodynamics off just enough....

Click on Home on his website to see Don's new do

Get Well Soon, DonCon!

Folks,

Don is back home in Taos and doing well! He says:
"I'll be on crutches and moving slowly but I'll be able to perform all my scheduled dates. Thanks for your support, prayers, emails, calls and concern. Much appreciated and I'll see you soon. DonCon."

Thanks so all of you for your prayers and good vibes! It worked! I've asked him to provide a snail mail address so we can send a real card. :-)

Folks,

Don says to use this address for snail mail cards:

PO Box 1077
EL Prado NM 87529

I think we should bombard him with cards. :)

DonCon is back online and has updated his website. He was kind enough to include his x-rays. They are really cool, but it looks like he might have trouble getting through airport security with all that metal inside.

It turns out that Don is uninsured. :( So feel free to slip some funds into those get well cards!!

OMG! I'm sorry to hear the news about Don but how exciting about the concert here in OKC! Of course I probably won't get to make it since we are in session and it will be our last two crazy weeks but I'm gonna do my best to make it! Karen - if you're here long enough and bored come visit me at the capitol (it's just down the road from the Blue Door)!!!

Hi y'all!

I'm here in thunderstorming Norman, OK at BeckyG's for tonight's Don Con benefit show at the Blue Door. Hopefully I'll have a fun report to post when I get back home and pictures of Sam Baker for Jela. ;)

More later....

....and here I am at University marking a dissertation so a photo of Sam Baker will be an ideal tonic

Have a great evening and look forward to reading all about it. Give Don all good wishes for a full recovery.

Norman, Oklahoma was just on CNN breaking news with all the weather there today and had a correspondent there moved inside the National Weather Center. He talked about the irony that VORTEX 2009 is in town with over 100 experts in the field of Tornados gathered to talk shop and study the latest in tornado technology. They even have the prop "Dorothy" from the Hollywood movie "Twister" on hand. He added they are keeping their locations a secret so folks don't go out there and get in the way.

I sure hope things calm down long enough for folks to get about safely for tonight.

Does Ellis dare tempt fate and dust off his poem "Tornado Girl" for tonight's benefit show for DonCon?

Yikes!!!

Stay safe, ya'll....
