Ellis live in studio - WMNF - 5pm EST - Sept. 22, 2008

Postby KarenZ » Sun Sep 21, 2008 11:28 am

Folks,

Radio alert! :) Ellis will be live in the studio of Tampa's WMNF tomorrow, Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 at 5pm EST. You can listen live at the link below.

Shall we make it a group listen? :)

Sorry, don't think I can make it Karen. :(

Wonder if there will be any baseball talk since the Red Sox are in a close race for first place in the American League East with the Tampa Rays.!!

WMNF deejay "Flee" just announced that Ellis Paul is in the building, in fact, in the back room writing a new song. He said Ellis will be up later to sing a couple songs. 8)

I thought this was a chat room......

Flee just announced that Ellis would be up in a bit and intro'd a Catie Curtis song (a Death Cab cover) adding that Ellis might have something to say about Katie since they are both from the Boston music scene.

When asked what time the show starts tonight, Ellis answered he wasn't sure, saying he wasn't too well informed, that folks could check the website for time. He added that the show wouldn't start without him! Then he declared he would start at 7:30...that he'd wait for folks to show up before starting.

Hey folks:

I'm sorry to admit I missed the live performance. Do you think it might be podcasted?

We got to hear Ellis do Hurricane Angel on guitar in Fort Collins and it was a real treat. I should have asked him to play it that way in Nederland/Boulder too, but since he had the keyboard there, well I might have been asking for too much. Ellis, at one point in the Nederland show, suggested that perhaps I should plan his set lists since I seemed to know more about his songs then he did. I mentioned that it was good to know Karen. He agreed, of course... :D

I asked Ellis in Vermont if he'd ever tried to play one of his guitar songs on piano - he mentioned that it never turned out very well (or something to that effect). I'm glad he's experimenting with trying his piano songs on guitar, that way if he doesn't have a piano or keyboard, we still get treated with his newest songs.

Talk to you guys later.
Dean.
