"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Shall we all try to listen to this today TOGETHER? Should be a fun way to break away from work during lunch. :D

Surprisingly enough, You Are My Sunshine, makes me smile. For starters, it's so sweet and brings back memories of my kids singing and secondly, I can so see my godson's 5-year-old face when he told me that was his favorite song because "its sooooo cute!" Little old man in a 5-year-old body!

Tonight I'm heading to the Club Cafe to hear The Refugees who are supposedly the female Crosby, Stills & Nash. :)

We've got friends coming to stay over tomorrow with their 15yr old and 8 yr old. Really looking forward to seeing them so I've been busy baking today.

On Sunday we'll probably go to watch the London to Brighton cycle ride (approx 50 miles) in aid of the British Heart Foundation, which comes through our village - its a sight to behold seeing all the cyclists pedalling away - hardy souls!

After our friends leave on Sunday we'll go for a long walk as I've entered myself into a 10km sleep walk in July so I've started 'training' for it and need to keep walking!!!
