Happy Birthday, Ellis Paul

Postby KarenZ » Sun Jan 13, 2008 9:42 am

Folks,

Yes, it's that time of year again! The board's Raison D'Etre is having a birthday TOMORROW, but since I'll be traveling to Chicago later today for tonight's show at Fitzgerald's, I'm posting this now. Please join me in wishing our road-warrior a Happy January 14th Birthday! (I'll post a report when I can.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLIS PAUL! :D

Dear Ellis:

This is one I learned from my daughter when she was in pre-school about 17 years ago:

It is your Birthday! Shout Hooray! [Everyone: 'HOORAY!']
We'd like to sing to you today! [Everyone: 'TODAY!']
One year older and wiser too! [WINK]
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to you...

And many more!

Happy birthday to you
And a hug and a kiss
All the best for you
is what I wish
As I sit and reminisce
About all the shows in the past
All the friends we've all made
It's all been a blast
We're all on a crusade
to get everyone we know
Out to a show

We hope the next year is filled with all sorts
of memorable road trips and such
And may all those on this board give reports
the discussion board helps keep us in touch.

So again all the best to you
We so appreciate all that you do

I'm sorry this poem is a bit silly
It's all I could do during my lunch hour really.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Becky

Ellis,

Some things get rusty
Some things get old
Some things get more beautiful
As the years they roll.
You've got wabi-sabi soul.

Happy Birthday!!

We did wish him an early happy birthday at Slate's on Monday night (great show, by the way) ... somehow he didn't seem enthused!

Hope you have a FUN day, anyway, Mr Paul!

This one's sung to military cadence, with the drill sergeant doing the shoutout and the rest doing the response. I think KarenZ would probably do the DS role!!

Albert Schweitzer was also born on January 14, 1875. He died the year Mr. Paul was born. Something I didn't know about Schweitzer until a few minutes ago is that before he was a physician and theologian, he was a musician! Sounds like he mastered both the black and the white keys. ;)

Happy Birthday Ellis.

Don't feel too down about the whole 'nother year older part..... Remember - it beats the alternative........
