YouTube video - Alice's Champagne Palace

Postby KarenZ » Thu Jul 05, 2007 8:48 pm

Folks,

Here's a video of Ellis and Antje Duvekot performing "Alice's Champagne Palace" at Alice's Champagne Palace in Homer, Alaska on June 14, 2007. It was Alice's re-opening night after having been closed for a couple years. Geez....I didn't know champagne was brown. ;)

The audio and video quality isn't the best....but still. :)

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Alice's Champagne Palace......sung by Ellis and Antje...onstage at Alice's Champagne Palace....at last.....and I feel like I was there for it, at the bar in the back, ordering a cold one from Alice herself. 8)

I crack myself up sometimes...like watching this video this morning, and wondering if this was an afternoon show....or late night show....

Have heard the sun sometimes shines day and night in Alaska.

It's not as I pictured it. Funny how we see things in our heads. :D

How nice to see the duet. :D
