Folks,
Back in 2004 when Ellis received the Boston College Arts Council Alumni Award (also known as the BCACAA) he did an interview with Scott Alarik (Boston Globe writer and author of Deep Community: Adventures in the Modern Folk Underground) patterned after the Bravo channel's "Inside the Actors Studio." In doing some EP-related research, I discovered that the interview (in both video or audio formats) is archived on the Boston College Magazine website, along with an article that was published in the magazine in the Summer of 2004. Here's the link to the article, where you will also find the links to the "Inside the BC Studio" interview in a shadow box titled A conversation with Ellis Paul. It's 45 minutes long....pretty interesting hearing about his early career and his thoughts on songwriting.

"Inside the BC Studio" (interview w. Scott Alarik)
"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.
