YouTube: Ellis Paul covers

Postby KarenZ » Thu Sep 30, 2010 9:18 am

Folks,

When I stumbled across this recently uploaded YouTube video I thought it might be nice to start a thread where we can post Ellis Paul covers.

This is a really good one! :-)

Shawn Garvey covers "Did Galileo Pray"

It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Patti,

Wow.....a two-fer! :-) You better post a report since it has been waaaaaaay too quiet around here. I'm starting to feel like one lone voice crying in the wilderness......

I think this is my favorite Ellis Paul cover - a YouTube that Paddy found for us a while back....

She Loves a Girl (covered by Frank Hart & Angel Echo )

I like this one. It would be easy to dismiss as average guitar technique and an okay voice. But he's got the spirit of the song down, although he believes like so many of us "it's like being caught by a tropical rain"
