Road Trip
We saw the Cadillac Graveyard and
Dinosaur Land
sang along at the Opry to a bluegrass band
The Painted Desert and the Great Sand Dunes
We saw the Grand Canyon from a hot air balloon
We're on a road trip
a road trip
the miles on the dash are doing back flips
There's nothing like finding a winding road trip
We dont know where we're going
but the wheels keep right on rolling
We're waving every town
bye, bye, bye, bye, bye, bye,
bye bye bye
We marched to the middle of the Golden Gate
Climbed a thousand stairs up the Empire State
Drove our chevy through the middle of a redwood tree
Got chased by a grizzly in Yosemite
(Chorus)
Underneath the sky so blue
we drive across the land
windows down our arms outstreched
catching wind within our hands
We drove South of the Border
to the Everglades
Rang the Liberty bell
Saw the Macy's Day Parade
Drifted down the Mississippi
on the Delta Queen
We danced in the streets
down in New Orleans
It's fun! It's a great sing-a-long! It's fodder for LOTS of hand movements! It features Flynn! Love the illustration of Ellis and Flynn in the car! Couldn't get it out of my head for months! Could be used as a terrific jump-off point for a geopgraphy lesson!
What's not to like?

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Fun fun fun - you can just imagine Ellis and Flynn doing all the things they sing about in the song.
If anyone ever wanted to learn about the famous sites in the US they only have to listen to this song - its so catchy and infectious. I hope I get to a family show one of these days if only to learn the hand movements!

I'm on a roadtrip of sorts myself these days....and dag nabbit I forgot to grab this cd to take along. The turnpike can get long and tiring after several hours and this song would have helped ease some of the tension along the way. Ellis and Flynn having way more fun on the road than we did yesterday......so, when you make that final checklist for your next roadtrip, take it from me.....put the Dragonfly Races on it and be sure to bring it along.
