Bonnie were planning on flying over for the concerts - just need to make sure that we can get tickets before we book our flights/accomodation.
It'll be great to meet you in person. I've been in e-mail contact with Matt the Passim's manager who said that the tix would not be advertised until after Ellis' 1st July show so I keep checking the website and will book up as soon as we can.

I'll be celebrating the anniversary of my shows.
Does that make sense? Well, last New Years was my first EP show. I've been to five since. I like the Dec. 30th show because I have other traditions for the 31st. Are tickets on sale yet? I may have to add on to the credit card bill
My mom bought me a lapel pin because she saw my post about being too poor to buy one right now. Thanks, Mom.

Back in the day when funds were at an all time low, we'd often ask:
Do your parents adopt?
Anyone today reading this thread that is in Jalapeno's shoes might
be wondering the same thing.
Way to go Jalapeno's mom!
And by the way, nice job raising a child who chooses her
career path, music makers, and forum handles well

I just laughed out loud
She has "adopted" many of mine and my brothers' friends over the years, but provided love, advice, and food rather than financial support! Those are the most important things in life.... especially food, right?
It's funny that my mom is also an educator and an Ellis Paul fan. She taught me about teaching, but I introduced her to my music!

Bonnie - thanks for enquiring, as you can imagine we are waiting (with baited breath) for the tix to go on sale so that we can make our travel plans. We're reluctant to book flights and accomodation until we are certain that we can get tickets. We know that the shows sell out fast.
I did e-mail Matt (the Manager) a while back and he said that they'd go on sale after Ellis' July concert. I'm now wondering if they won't be advertised until after the October shows. I did e-mail Matt again earlier this week but haven't yet heard back.
So hope that you can get some firm info on Friday.

It's an age old Question, isn't it?
"What are your plans for New Year's?"
Imagining the reaction I'd likely get if I was to say:
"We're spending it in Boston at Club Passim with a roomful of friends."
"Uh, okay."
Would certainly be a first for us.
I'd like to say I'm in, in spirit anyway.
We'll have to see. It would be Way Up There on the cool register.
I know......decide, decide, decide.

My daughter and I drove up from central Pennsylvania last year for the late show on the 31st. It was a great show, and if she's not too grown up and sophisticated from starting college this fall, we will try to do it again. Sporting our lapel pins!! of course.
Thank the Lord for the friends he cast in the play he wrote for you. --Ellis Paul

Bit of a cross post here but noticed rglossne said Central Pa. to Boston for Ellis at Club passim..there back on topic...
If yer heading fer Exton to see Lori Mckenna/ Mark Erelli please let me know somehow. Seems like a few fans of Ellis will also be there and it'd be great to say hello.
Exit 312 off Pa. Tpk and you are practically there. Hint, Hint.
Ellis, if yer reading this and feeling left out, it goes w/o saying we hope to see you here at this show as well.
Let me know somehow. Hint squared.....again.
Can you imagine Ellis singing harmonies onstage with Lori and Mark?
I can.

Sorry, Paddy, no can do right now. I'm getting my folk loving daughter ready to leave for college (Northampton, MA--Iron Horse in February, anyone?) and getting ready to move myself.
I hope that there is some Ellis show close to PA before New Year's!!

Hey Bon, There are still tix available for 12/30.....right?
I read your post and wondered if it was your plan all along to only make the 12/31 shows OR was it that you tried for 12/30 as well and found that those tix were all sold out.
Inquiring mind here.....

I got mine. I'm in for all four. Just so you all know - although I've been to Passim once before (in 1998) tomorrow's shows on Oct. 28 will be the first time seeing Ellis there. Double Blasphemous, I know.

I am going to the Passim benefit this Sunday. That is in place of going on 12/30.

Hey everybody,
I think it's time we start getting a head count for the Dec. 30-31 shows. I'm in for all four. Let's hear what shows everyone will be attending.
I am so freakin' excited I can hardly stand it!

Lyn (msmeetngreet), SusanH and I are in for both on the 31st.
I also hear they put in their request for an opening act.
Maybe if there is enough champagne, the elusive Cannondrop will make an appearance.

I guess it's a new New Year's tradition for us. My daughter and her boyfriend, and my boyfriend and I have tickets for dinner seating at the late show on New Year's Eve! We can't wait!
We actually have 5 tickets because I thought my son might want to come. I might be interested in selling it, but I won't know until closer to the holiday.
If it is half as good a show as last year, we'll all have a great time!

i'll be there...wouldn't miss it!
Got tix for the 7 p.m. show - i'll be there with or without someone else (that's up in the air at the moment - so if at the last minute any of you can't get to the 10 p.m. & would like a seat - check in with me & it may still be available!) - I wouldn't miss seeing E perform on New Years - takes the 'blah' right out of the night for me - I'm not a big New Year's fan admittedly...less so each year as I get older!
So yeah - i'll be there & maybe some of you guys will introduce yourselves - I haven't a clue who any of you are but I see the same faces over & over in the area at each show - so some of you must be on this board that i'm seeing - you just remain nameless! We'll fix that!
Hope you all have a wonderful Holiday & i'll see you at the show!
Best,
Gundy

that'd be the 7 p.m. on the 31st...i'm such a dork...
sorry all, forgot to clarify...gotta have clarity, right? Right!
So if anyone needs a seat at the 7 p.m. show on December 31st at Passim's please check with me here in a week or so to see if I haven't found an unsuspecting person to convert into an instant EP fan - and you can have it! Night all!

i'll be on the lookout!
I try not to miss any local shows -but i've been sick for a long time now so i've got lost time to make up to E - hate promising him i'll be there & then having to cancel last minute - but my illness is unpredictable at best - so i'm keeping my fingers crossed b/c this will make 3 shows in 3 months - which is my usual attendance average. But since E's moved he's been coming round these parts a bit less - so I have to keep my eyes/ears open for shows in the MA area & catch them when I can! You'll be hard pressed to miss me - i'm destined to be the shortest person there & i'm very (and I mean VERY) butch (yeah, she loves a girl...yup...you got it...not at the moment - but generally speaking! LOL) - so you'll catch me there - I stand out like a sore thumb - even at Passim's! I'll keep an eye out for all of you - we should all wear something to distinguish ourselves from the rest of the crowd, eh? Something EPish - not the pin necessarily - but something only we would know...hmmm...any ideas? Ha-HA! I KNOW! We should all go out & get ONE black velvet cowboy shirt - and ALL show up in them - man, that would kill ellis - he'd laugh his @ss off....I can see it now!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone in????? LOL

Ha ha! What a great discription. It is still hard for me to approach people I don't know when I am at a show, but I always appreciate it when someone comes to me. So if anyone from the board is there, please say "hi".
