Joe's Pub - NYC - Dec. 28, 2006

Postby danielrobertsullivan » Thu Dec 28, 2006 1:03 pm

Anyone going to this show? I am a long-time Ellis fan that has been in the midwest for three years and have only been able to catch him once out there. Now that I am back on the east coast, I am very happy for more opportunities!

Joe's Pub, New York City, tonight!

Set List!

Postby JennyLevE » Fri Dec 29, 2006 5:19 pm

Well--
Since I know that Shari departed for Boston early this morning and appears not to have posted a set list I guess I will, even though I am sure that she would do a better job since I am missing some of the information.
Shari-- add when you can and as you see fit.

Here is what I have:

December 28, 2006
Joe’s Pub, New York, NY

Guests:
Unfortunately, I do not know their names, but they were great!

Set List:
1. Summer Time (new piano song)
2. Maria’s Beautiful Mess
3. Take All The Sky You Need
4. Alice’s Champagne Palace
5. Jukebox On My Grave
6. Two Bends In The Road (Cover)
7. 3,000 Miles
8. Snow In Austin
9. The Night The Lights Went Out On Christmas (Poem)
10. Blacktop Train
11. Home (had to ask for the light in the keys to be white instead of colored so that he could see the difference between the black an white keys)
12. The World Ain’t Slowin’ Down (fitting, seeing as not even a min. before we had felt a subway "rumble" beneath the pub)
13. Martyr’s Lounge (Encore, audience request)
14. Rollaway Bed (Encore, audience request)

It was a really great show!

I'm sure that he was only warming up for all the shows up in Boston this weekend.

Thanks!

Jen,

You got the setlist right! I will be posting to the setlist site tonight.

It was a great show. The guests were Pat Wictor and Radislov Lorkovic.

I also noticed the "rumble of the subway train" and thought it was very well timed. :-)

Finally! I have got one foot out of the tunnel....

Here is the setlist from this show....

I think that my favorite was when Ellis dropped the pick and sang "wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute..." while digging around for a new one...

Enjoy!

Shari
