I'm hoping that it will be streamed on the 'net by Concert Window so that I can tune in from across the pond.
Will look forward to reports and photos

I have two tickets to the early show that I can't use and will happily give up at face. Any interest?

I may have some interest. When you say the early show - early on the 30th or the 31st ?

Re: Club Passim, Cambridge, MA-Dec 30-31, 2011
December 30, 7:00 PM Show at Club Passim
We went to the early show last night at Club Passim. Peyton Tochterman opened and did a fine set. He will be opening quite a bit for Ellis this year, so watch for him !
Joining Ellis were the usual suspects for New Year’s Eve - Don Conoscenti, Radoslav Lorkovic, and Michael Clem. The group was in fine humor and great musical form as well. If you haven’t seen the four of them together before – please do so at your next chance. It is as much fun as they can legally allow at a folk music event…. We heard a song from the new CD with which folks immediately were able to sing along. (And yes, the CD was available after the show). The new guitar sounded and looked great – if it disappears after tonight I might be the prime suspect. The Orbison tribute was outstanding.
The set list:
Rose Tattoo
Take All the Sky You Need
Crying (Orbison)
Kick Out the Lights
Maria’s Beautiful Mess
The new guitar story……
Walking After Midnight / Things Change
Dragonfly
The Lights of Vegas
Mary (not sure on the title, a Christmas song …)
Alice’s Champagne Palace
Across the Universe (Lennon/McCartney)
American Girl (Petty)
Chief Joseph (from the new children’s CD)
Hurricane Angel
Annalee (out in the crowd)
Heckler
Snow in Austin

Thanks for the recap Jeff.
I watched the early 31st show on the internet live stream - Concert Window are doing a great job bringing live music to our homes. Next best thing to actually being there.
Happy 2012 to you and all Ellis Paul fans across the globe.

It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

My favorite show of the year is the New Year’s Eve 10 PM show. Flynn opens, Ellis is there with a great band. I see old friends and new fans and we all share the ending of one year and the hope and excitement of the beginning of a new year. It was nice to see Susan and Bonnie, and it was a real treat to be sitting next to Karen for the show.
Flynn opened, and teased us with hints of the 40 or so songs he needs to figure out how to get onto a CD or more…. I hope that this year brings progress on the CD along with more shows for him to work out the new music. He also mentioned Ellis’s new CD and how proud he was of the work they had put into it.
Flynn’s set:
On Your Way
Shake (not sure about this one – my handwriting in the dark was pretty tough to figure)
American Wake (with Michael Clem)
Carousel (with Michael Clem and Rad)
White
Be Careful What You Wish For
Human
After a brief break, Ellis came out along with DonCon, Michael Clem, and the Croatian Sensation Radoslav Lorkovic.
The set list for “Ellis Paul and the Paulettes”:
Rose Tattoo
Take All the Sky You Need
Crying (Orbison)
Kick Out the Lights
Walking After Midnight / Things Change
The new guitar story……
Maria’s Beautiful Mess
Alice’s Champagne Palace
Mary (Christmas song …)
3000 Miles
Auld Lang Syne
Across the Universe (Lennon/McCartney)
American Girl (Petty)
Chief Joseph (from the new children’s CD, with Flynn and Peyton)
Out in the crowd for:
World Ain’t Slowing Down
Annalee
And closing back at the piano with:
Home

Ralph posted a link to this article over on Facebook, and if Karen doesn't mind I am posting the link here as well: I think the author went to her first NYE show at 7 PM that night.....

Jeff,
I've been trying to drum up some activity here, so I don't mind at all!
Nice review!
