I've only just noticed this date on the Tour Page and wondered if any of our regular Bostonites will be going. It's limited to 50 people and it sounds as if it could be a wonderful evening with the new CD being showcased.
I hope that someone will post a report.

I am so very sad that I can't attend. I already have concert tickets and hotel reservations out of town. It is a trip that I would skip for this party and the Kiva house concert on the 14th, but I am already commited.

what a very cool sounding night...
Probably not something I can get to either due to a previous plans, but, unlike Bonnie, I "may" be able to change it.. won't know for a few days and then I think the 50 spots maybe gone...but I won't know until I try.

Hey Kids-
I was able to go to this show last night, and what an amazing show it was.
the new album (demo) was playing in the backround whenever Ellis wasn't singing. He mostly concentrated on the new album, but did throw in a few old favourites.
Here is the set list-
Hurricane Angel
Once Upon a Summertime
Dragonfly
Walking After Midnight/Things Change
Rose Tattoo - with Antje
The Day After Everything Changed
Annalee
Waking Up to Me - with Antje
Maria's Beautiful Mess
Jukebox On My Grave
Alice's Champgne Palace -with Antje
-break-
History
Blacktop Train - with Flynn
Wherever You Are - with Flynn
Cotton is Burning
The World Ain't Slowing Down
Sieze the Day
Words
Let It Be - with Flynn
3,000 Miles - with Flynn
The Night Hank Williams Came to Town - with Flynn
I really can't wait to hear the new album when it comes out. So far the are 15 songs and ellis is fighting to get another one on. It was hard to hear clearly in the club, people talking, restaurant noise, etc...
I look forward to hearing the album version of "Waking Up to Me" with Antje. Ellis told the story that Antje recorded her part here, she was not in the studio with him, and the musical direction he gave her was to sound "Mermaid-y" I have no idea what that means, but I can't wait to find out. He tried to get her to do it on stage, but she wasn't feeling very "mermaid-y".

Susan, I am so pleased that you got to go and thanks so much for reporting back. It must have been a lovely evening and a listening party is such a great idea.
Also to have Antje and Flynn help out must have been the icing on the cake.

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.
