Great show! I've been singing Rose Tattoo ever since. I've always wanted a tattoo and am thinking maybe a Rose in honor of this song!!!

I didn't keep a set list, but my pen was used to do so by Susan!!!!

Great to see Bonnie, Susan and Lynn, as always!

So looking forward to the new CD!

Until the next time ...

Sorry for the delay. I had such a crazy (good) weekend that I had to decompress a bit in order to be coherent.

We got to the place an hour before the doors opened, and there was already a line. Those of you who know me can imagine my horror at not being first in line. :P

Since they were celebrating their 30th anniversary, the Beal House was set up like a birthday party. There were balloons, banners and even a cake. Mmmm cake.

Flynn opened. He played an excellent set. I'm sure Susan will list the songs. He had his new live cd "Flynn Live" available and by the end of the night had sold huge pile of them. Yes, huge pile IS an official number. That is more than a boatload, less then a bajillion.

Ellis had company, Mike Clem from Eddie From Ohio accompanied him on bass. His bass is just beautiful. Picture to follow. Ellis did most of the new songs and said that the recording is going well. He is aiming for a summer release. Anna Lee was done unplugged in the audience and he just belts that one out when he has no mic. It is a perfect song for that.

Flynn joined them for a few songs as well. I think it was the best version of Blacktop Train I have ever heard. Flynn was a little more "rocking" than usual, plus he adds a nice backing vocal. The bass was a welcome addition too. I am not familiar with Mr Clem at all, but he did make me laugh. A few songs after Flynn left the stage, he said in a "but now how much would you pay" voice, "We miss Flynn already, but you don't have to, you can see him perform next week at TCAN....." I have been walking around saying that. "but you don't have to." Hee Hee.

Happy Birthday Beal House

Bonnie,

Thanks for the report! Sounds like another fun show.....and you heard the best rendition of "Blacktop Train" EVER? You lucky DAWG! :D

Mike Clem's bass is very unusual looking from the pix you posted. I do love that sound....

Glad to hear that Flynn sold a huge pile of his new Live CD! I have to get it!

"Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.
