Postby Cathy » Sun Jan 11, 2009 7:09 pm

Anyone going to this? I just got tix yesterday.
It seems to be at a small venue (the best kind).
This will only be my second time seeing him live.
I am excited. :D

Cathy,

Welcome back! :) Have fun and please report back if you can! :)

It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see." -- Ann Patchett in Bel Canto.

Look forward to a report -- welcome aboard. :)

Enjoy the show!

Thanks for the replies. Would be nice to meet up with someone from the board. Anyway, I am bringing a friend who actually never heard of Ellis.
But I let her listen to a small sample of his music (over the phone). I think she will be pleasently surprised. :)

I would have liked to take some photos, but only noticed two flashes during the whole night. I didn't want to distract, but really wanted to snap a few photos. Does he mind at all? I didn't hear an annoucement NOT to, but I just felt as if I shouldn't.

Cathy -- photos are more than okay; there's plenty of them here on the forum. :) Ellis once asked me to try and take them early in the show like the first song or two.

I think that goes for amatuers like me who use flash, though!!!

I wanted to do that, but didn't see a flash till almost the break. Then only one more towards the end. If more started to take photos, I would have too.
Well...hopefully next time. :)

Yes, I have a camera with a flash, not sure how to take it off while sitting in the dark, lol. I am not a professional either.
