Since emerging from the Boston music scene, Ellis' music has been consistently recognized and celebrated as one of the top American song writers.  His is an innovative creative writing workshop that leads students through the songwriting process from conception to reality, discussing songwriting strategies, and then working together with students to create an original song from scratch while engaging the participants to take active roles in the process.
